Ingredients

  • 2 Cans of chickpeas
  • 2 Large potatoes
  • 1 Onion
  • 4 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable bouillon powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Nutritional yeast
  • 1/4 cup Oats
  • 1/4 cup Chickpea flour

Coating mix

  • 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp Vegetable bouillon powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Peel the potatoes and boil them until cooked. Set aside to cool.
  • Rinse the chickpeas and put them in a food processor with the onion, garlic, bouillon powder, cumin powder, nutritional yeast, salt, and pepper. Blitz everything until you get a somewhat doughy consistency.
  • Add the porridge oats and chickpea flour and blitz again.
  • Take the boiled potatoes and mash them. Add them to the food processor and blend everything well together.
  • Turn your oven to 150°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Form the patties with your hands, you will get about 18-20 patties. Coat them with the coating mix and place on the parchment paper.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry all the patties until golden. Placing each one on the baking tray after you've fried them. When you've fried all the patties place the patties in the oven to bake for about 15-20 minutes.
